Children’s Sunday School

Sunday School classes for children through high school and adults are held at 10 a.m. from the second Sunday in September (Rally Sunday) through the second Sunday in June (Children’s Day).

Rally Sunday will take place on Sunday, September 9 at 9:45 a.m. This marks the beginning of the Sunday School year for all ages, children, youth and adult. Join us for this kickoff to the 2018-19 Sunday School year.

Camp Arevelk provides a wonderful Christ-centered atmosphere for our young people ages 10-16 to learn about their faith, make connections with other Christians and enjoy a variety of activities and sports in an encouraging and loving environment. It also provides opportunities for the older youth to serve by becoming counselors and building life-long relationships with the campers.

Camp Arevelk was held August 5-11, 2018 at the Ararat Center in Greenville, NY. Nine campers from AMCC attended and four of our youth served as counselors. Below are comments from two of the leaders:

Catherine: Camp Arevelk this year was different due to the absence of Rev. Ara Jizmejian. This year’s lessons centered on being able to say “It is Well With My Soul.” The goal of the week was to be in touch with your emotions but to rely on facts. As a counselor, I was able to have many talks with my campers about their faith and answer questions that they had. It was a fruitful week.

Miriam: I had the pleasure of being a counselor-in-training at Camp Arevelk where I got to work specifically with the twelve and thirteen year-old girls and spend the week together. During the speaker sessions, we learned that we are made in the likeness of God who feels the same emotions we do. Whatever we heard from the speaker was connected with the Bible lesson and “cabin time” during the day. I really enjoyed having discussions about the Bible and faith because many campers don’t get to have conversation with their other friends during the year.
