April 12, 2020 -Easter Sunday
WELCOME – Welcome to our Easter Sunday virtual worship service. Whether you are worshiping at home alone or with your family, we hope you will experience a sense of connection with other AMCC members, our extended family, and online visitors as they worship with you.
We are grateful to our Pastor Emeritus, Rev. Dr. Peter B. Doghramji, for leading us in our worship today, to our readers, and to the combined AMCC choir and members of the congregation for singing our traditional ‘Hallelujah’ chorus in a video from our archives.
PREPARING for WORSHIP – Whether using your computer, tablet, or smart phone, we suggest that you find a quiet, comfortable space in your home that allows you to be fully present in the spirit of worship.
Before you begin, please take a moment to read some tips on how to best navigate our interactive program format:
As you follow the Order of Worship below, you will see portions that are video- or audio-taped, read silently or aloud together, or offer a time for quiet reflection or prayer. You can go at your own pace (and you can go back watch any of the video segments again).
To access the videos and audios, click on the hyperlink next to the program listing. Make sure your sound is turned on and the volume high enough for you to hear well. You may wish to click the full screen icon for better viewing. When the video ends, close the video screen to return to the Order of Worship.

1 Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account.
4 Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we accounted him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in, they did not find the body. 4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. 5 The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. 6 Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.” 8 Then they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.
Hymn – Sourp Asdvadz (v. 3), Park Kez, Der (audio):
Sourp Asdvadz / Holy God,
Sourp yev huzor / Holy and almighty,
Sourp yev anmah / Holy and immortal,
Vor haryar ee merelots / You who were resurrected from the dead,
Voghormya mez / Have mercy on us.
Park kez Der Asdvadz mer. / Praise to you, Lord, our God.
Affirmation of Faith – Apostles’ Creed (read silently or aloud):
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
